How it works

From “someone hit me” to back on the road — usually the same day.

Here’s the whole process, including the parts other companies leave to the fine print: what we need from you, what you pay for, and how the recovery actually works.

Step 1 · About 5 minutes

Tell us what happened

What you'll need: your licence, your car's details, the accident date and location, and whatever you have on the at-fault driver. Photos of the damage and the exchange of details help speed things up.

  • Call us or submit the online form — whichever suits you.
  • We'll ask about the accident, who was at fault, and the other driver's details (name, rego, and insurer if you have it).
  • We confirm eligibility on the spot in most cases. If something needs checking, we tell you exactly what and by when.

Step 2 · Often same day

Your car arrives — wherever you are

Before you sign, we walk you through the agreement: what's covered, what you pay (fuel, tolls, fines — the same running costs as your own car), and what we ask of you during the hire.

  • We match you with a vehicle equivalent to your own — hatch, sedan, SUV, ute, prestige or EV.
  • Delivered to your home, work or repairer anywhere in greater Melbourne.
  • A quick walk-around, a plain-English hire agreement, and you're driving.

Step 3 · During the hire

Drive while your car is fixed or settled

We stay in touch with you and, where appropriate, your repairer, so the hire ends when your car is genuinely back — not before, not weeks after.

  • Keep the car for the reasonable period your vehicle is being repaired, or until settlement if it's written off.
  • Keep us posted on repair progress — a quick update when your repairer gives you one.
  • Need child seats or specific features? Tell us at booking.

Step 4 · After the hire

We recover the costs — not from you

In the rare case an insurer disputes a claim, we handle it. Provided you were truthful with us and met the terms of your hire agreement, the hire charges are our risk to recover — you won't be left with the bill.

  • We collect the vehicle when your car is back or your claim is settled.
  • We invoice the at-fault party's insurer and manage the recovery process end-to-end.
  • You may be asked to reasonably assist — e.g. confirm accident details or provide a statement. We prepare everything with you.

Your side of the deal, in plain English

The ACCC has pulled companies up for hiding this. We’d rather you read it before you sign:

  • You confirm you were not at fault and your account of the accident is accurate.
  • You provide the at-fault driver's details and any evidence you have (photos, dashcam, witnesses).
  • You reasonably assist our recovery — for example providing a statement about the accident if the insurer asks.
  • You pay the car's running costs: fuel or charging, tolls, parking and any infringements incurred while you drive it.
  • You look after the vehicle as if it were your own and tell us promptly if anything happens to it.
  • If it turns out you were actually at fault or gave us false information, you may become liable for hire charges — this is why we confirm fault carefully up front.

This summary doesn’t replace the hire agreement, which you’ll receive and can read in full before any commitment. Questions? Call us — a human answers.
